Update 12/8 – Especially Tender

IMG_1953

Dear praying friends and family,

Thank you for helping us with your prayers (and tender words, yummy meals, and thoughtful gifts!)!

Especially tender! Laura Tabbut, my colleague and brilliant artist (actually, brilliant in pretty much every way!) has designed and is selling pink upcycled headbands to support me (and The Greenhouse building project. Beautiful. (Loved seeing dearly loved students wearing these!)

Here’s the latest:

  • The Tumor Board is discussing my treatment plan this morning (Tuesday 8th), and we discuss treatment tonight with my oncologist. Chemotherapy is standard protocol unless my ONCO test comes back a “1.” Everything they know now about my tumor indicates 2 or 3. Lots of controversy about chemo – very strong opinions on both sides – I’m a fool if I take it, and I’m a fool if I don’t. We need wisdom. Breast Cancer in particular is a sneaky enemy, hiding and ambushing for years- waging war like no other cancer.  If there’s a “right” treatment path, we trust our Abba Daddy to reveal it. A “1” on the ONCO test would be miraculous. Anything is possible!

IMG_1953Early this morning, my tender-hearted Jacqui phoned to tell me she dreamed last night that there was a machine she could enter to receive my treatment and it would work for me!  She (who isn’t sick!) could take my pain on herself, and I (who am sick!) would be healed! (She said she doesn’t think she would really do that! Who would?)

Actually, in the dream she was aware that this machine was similar to the cross. Jesus (who hadn’t sinned and didn’t need forgiveness!) took the punishment for my sin on Himself, and I (who have sinned and do need forgiveness!) am healed. Who would do that?

Another song on my “Hope” playlist, “It is Well” (Bethel). Will you listen and pray these lyrics for us?

Thanking God for you!!

Learning to rest in God alone,

Becky

“He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us again. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many.” (2 Cor 1:10-11)
