Dear Family and Friends,
Another story declaring God’s faithfulness to the next generation, another story showing Him BIG and wonderful – to an average woman, to the least.
Yikes! When Zach told me the story is 11:40, I wanted a do-over! No can do, says Zach.
But please go ahead and watch this one. It’s worth the nearly 12 minutes – the story is good (and my expressions and gestures are pretty funny!). The next story will be shorter!! Much shorter!
(And let me tell you how I ended up with ORANGE hair!)
I’m officially a kindred-spirit with Anne of Green Gables!
No kidding! ORANGE. And not a hip, intentional artsy orange, but a laughable orange – a Tim-can’t-look-at-me-without-snickering orange.
How did I end up orange? Here’s the progression:
1.Bald. Gray. Attempt at hip, subtle purple (didn’t work.)
2. “14K Blonde,” which one too many people referred to as “mousy.” (UGGHH!)
3. Added “Champagne” – still mousy! (As seen in My Diamond Story)
4. Finally, my wanna-be-stylist-self suggests, Why not try Rosewood Brown?
Why not???? Because 14K Blonde + Champagne + Rosewood Brown = ORANGE!
The pictures don’t come close to capturing my nearly neon orangutan orange, die-hard Bears fan, no.one.would.choose.this orange!
Even the girl at Sally’s smirked, “That’s orange – not at all red.” “You put rinse on top of rinse?” “No, there’s really nothing you can do except wait for it to wash out.” “Don’t try the purple again until all this is gone.”
Desperate times, desperate measures!
I washed my hair with: Goop, Dish Detergent, Laundry Detergent (with stain remover!), Toothpaste, Baking Soda, and scrubbed with a Magic Eraser! (Ouch!).
And like my kindred-spirit Anne, my laughable orange has darkened to a lovely auburn!
So What?! (from the video)
My hope for today comes from knowing He is the God who directs my steps and who uses rainy-day disruptions to lavish grace gifts!
Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Proverbs 3: 5-6
Thanking God for you! Praying we know Him – more and more – as the God who directs our steps – even on (or especially on!) the rainy days.
Love, Becky (His.Princess.Warrior.)
(who, by faith, is trusting Him for the next step and to lavish grace on me and through me, – even in the rain.)
He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us again. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many. (2 Corinthians 1:10-11)
